List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

Three books that have shaped my way of thinking are the Holy Scripture, the Philokalia, and the Sayings of the Desert Fathers. Each of them forms a different layer of the same inner work.

Holy Scripture teaches the will of God — the foundation, the light that reveals the path. The Philokalia teaches the war within — how to purify the heart, how to watch over thoughts, how to remain awake. The Desert Fathers (Paterikon) teach the living example — how a human being looks when grace becomes practice, not theory.

Scripture gives the command, the Philokalia gives the method and the Paterikon gives the living witness. Together, they form a single movement of the soul, to see, to struggle, and to walk.

Trei cărți care mi‑au modelat felul de a gândi sunt Sfânta Scriptură, Filocalia și Patericul. Fiecare lucrează altă adâncime a omului.

Sfânta Scriptură arată voia lui Dumnezeu — temelia, lumina care descoperă drumul, filocalia arată lupta lăuntrică — cum se curăță inima, cum se păzesc gândurile, cum rămâi treaz, patericul arată omul îndumnezeit — cum arată viața când harul devine faptă, nu idee. Scriptura dă porunca, filocalia dă meșteșugul,patericul dă mărturia vie. Împreună, fac o singură mișcare a inimii, să vezi, să te lupți și să mergi.
