Eternity does not begin tomorrow, but in the way you live this present moment before God.
People often waste their lives between regrets over the past and anxieties about the future. The past can no longer be changed, and the future does not yet belong to them. The only place where they can meet God is the present moment.
Each day is a gift that God places into your hands. You do not need extraordinary deeds to please Him. A prayer offered with attention, work done faithfully, a word spoken with love, a temptation endured with patience, and a heart that does not forget the Lord are more precious than many great works done out of vainglory.
Do not let the present moment be stolen by anxiety. God gives you grace for today, not for the imagined troubles of tomorrow. The one who learns to receive each hour as a gift begins to live in peace, for he discovers that God is present in every step.
Do not ask how long your journey will be. Ask whether, at this very moment, you are walking with Christ. If He is with you today, then you have lost nothing that truly matters.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:34)
