What’s a movie or book that inspired you to travel?
English version (EN)
An elder of the desert once said that a man does not truly travel when he moves his feet, but when he moves his heart. So when asked which book inspired me to travel, I do not think of roads, but of awakening.
For me, The Sayings of the Desert Fathers is the book that stirs the desire for journey — not toward a country, but toward the place where a person meets himself and God. Each saying is a map: not of paths, but of inner crossroads.
The journey it inspires is not one of luggage but of letting go; not one of photographs but of silence; not one of itineraries but of watchfulness.
And if I were to name a book that moves the feet as well as the heart, then The Lives of the Saints send you to places where the ground has been scorched by prayer. They inspire not tourism, but pilgrimage — the walk of one who knows he is not seeking a place, but a light.
