Brother, a man does not say “I love You” from the heart, but from his being, for the heart changes, trembles, burns, and cools, but the being stands before God like a child who knows nothing, yet feels that he is held.
Love spoken in calm is beautiful, but love spoken after inner unveiling is true, for when a man sees the wildness within, the misery, the passion, and still says, “I love You, Lord,” that word does not rise from him, but from the place where God sustains his very being.
Remember this: not the one who feels much loves, but the one who remains in truth after being uncovered. For essential love is neither emotion nor strength, but the humble answer of a man who has seen how little he is and how greatly God carries him.
