Să nu-L defaimi prin cugetarea ta cea iubitoare de păcat pe Dumnezeu Creatorul cel preaînțelept al mădularelor noastre. Căci niciunul din toate mădularele omenești nu este corupt sau vrednic de osândă. Căci la început, protopărinții noştri Adam și Eva, fiind ei în rai, au avut aceleași mădulare ale trupului și nu au fost izgoniți din pricina mădularelor, ci pentru călcarea poruncii lui Dumnezeu. Nu trebuie, aşadar, să defăimăm mădularele noastre, ci dispoziția cea rea de a făptui prin ele.
Guilt of the Disposition
Do not defame God the all‑wise Creator of our members through your sin‑loving thoughts. For none of the human members is corrupt or worthy of condemnation. In the beginning, our forefathers Adam and Eve, while they were in Paradise, had the same bodily members, and they were not cast out because of their members, but because of the transgression of God’s commandment. Therefore, we must not defame our members, but the evil disposition that acts through them.
