Trust in God is the rest of the soul that has stopped believing it must carry every burden of life alone.
People often want to understand everything before they trust. They want to see the entire path before taking the first step. But faith does not mean having all the answers; it means knowing whose hands hold your life.
A child does not know every danger in the world, but finds peace in the arms of his father. Not because he understands everything, but because he trusts in love. So it is with the soul that entrusts itself to God: not because it is free from trials, but because it knows it is not alone within them.
Distrust gives birth to anxiety, because a person tries to control what he cannot master. Trust brings peace, because it makes room for God’s work. This does not mean passivity, but action united with prayer and hope.
When you do not understand the path you are walking, remember all the ways God has carried you until now. The grace that sustained you yesterday has not stopped working today.
Do not ask only for God to change your circumstances; ask Him to strengthen your heart for every circumstance. For the greatest miracle is not always the changing of situations, but the transformation of the person who lives through them with God.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:7)
